North Branch woman killed in Oct. 10 crash on Hwy. 95 and CR 9Jody Lynn Plaster, 37, of North Branch was killed in a two-vehicle accident Thursday afternoon at the intersection of County Road 9 and Hwy. 37 east of North Branch. Plaster and her 15-year-old son, John Walter Plaster, were riding in a 1995 Dodge Neon Sport heading north on CR 9. A North Branch school bus driven by 32-year-old Katherine Forster of Harris was west bound returning to North Branch after the children had all been dropped off for the day. Forsterís two children were on the bus at the time of the accident. No one on the bus was injured. The bus driver attempted to stop by braking and skidded to a stop ending up at the side of the road partly in a ditch. Jody Plaster and her son were both air lifted to Hennepin County Medical Center (HCMC) where she was pronounced dead at about 5:45 p.m. Jody was not wearing a seat belt, John was. It took emergency workers at least 20 minutes to extricate the youth from the vehicle. The two were placed in ambulances while they waited for two helicopters to arrive. Both Jody and John were intubated at the accident scene to assist them in breathing. John Plaster remains in serious condition at HCMC. Forster voluntarily went to Fairview Regional Medical Center in Wyoming and submitted to a blood test. The 1992 International school bus sustained damage to the front driverís side. ©ECM Post Review |
