Nelson doesnít just talk the talk

To the editor:
Iíd like to think negative campaigning has no affect on the people of Chisago County. But as some previous letters to the editor show, it is evident it exists even here. That is why I wanted to encourage voters to keep focused and not be swayed by misleading, petty campaign tactics that skirt the real issues.
I would hope that if a voter was unsure about a candidateís stand on a specific issue, they would contact them directly instead of basing their vote on vague promises and political cliches. One person who I can count on to tell me how he feels on an issue is Pete Nelson, running for state representative in District 17B. He doesnít just use catchy phrases to say he is for good education for our kids and better roads for our area ñ who isnít? Itís about walking the walk, not just talking the talk. And if you know Pete, he does walk the talk. So, stay focused on the issues and vote for someone who can dig in and get the job done with some common sense ñ Pete Nelson. And by all means, call him and ask him if you have any questions on specific issues.
