Vote yes, yes, yes for our children

To the editor:
We find ourselves at a challenging time in history today. Our nation faces threats from its enemies and our economy continues to struggle. Meanwhile, an unimaginable phenomenon has taken place in our own community and state: funding for out childrenís education and educational programs has been diminishing for years. Even though our own future and the future of the world rests upon our children who are the leaders and educators of tomorrow, they continue to be sent a message that says they matter less and less.
Everyday it becomes more difficult for educators to equip our children with the knowledge, skills and confidence necessary to face the challenges of tomorrow.
In the North Branch area, the number of children needing a quality public education continues to rise while the number of staff and resources available to provide that education continues to fall. Operating budgets continue to decline and the children of our community are repeatedly getting shortchanged. The sad truth is that even though the state funding has increased overall, funding for our district has not. That is why Nov. 5 is so important.
It is imperative that the people of the North Branch area act now and overcome these challenges so our children will continue go grow, be ready to face the challenges of the future and receive the best possible education.
North Branch Area Schools need our help. By voting yes, yes, yes, on the November ballot, you can help our district receive much needed funding to operate at its best.
