Martin W. Mattson
Martin William Mattson age 85, of Amador, died on Oct. 10, 2002 at the St. Croix Valley Hospital. Funeral services were held on Monday, Oct. 14, 2002 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Almelund with Rev. Brian Bergin officiating. Music was provided by Pat Remer and Jon Ekstrom. Interment was in the Sunrise Cemetery. Arrangements by Grandstrand Funeral home in North Branch, Minn. Martin was born on June 20, 1917 in Amador Township to Gabriel and Malena (Peterson) Mattson. On Dec. 14, 1946 he married Ruby Lindo on the Lindo farm near Vibo Lake in Lindstrom. Martin worked as a farmer for his entire life. Martin served in the Army during WWII. In 1949 he purchased a farm on Amador Hill. Martinís hobbies were farming, and driving around the Minnesota and Wisconsin countryside looking at crops and farms. Martin is survived by three daughters Judy Lindahl and husband Larry; Sandra Benson and husband James; and Maureen Mattson; five grandchildren Dan Lindahl and wife Jeri, Kevin Lindahl and wife Tara, Amy Rotty and husband Gary, Tim and Bob Benson; five great grandchildren; one sister Agnes Olson. Many other relatives and friends. Martin was preceded in death by his wife Ruby, and brother Clarence.
