Fund-raiser will help children

TO THE EDITOR:
Our Crisis Nursery fund-raising committee would like to invite the entire community to help prevent child abuse and neglect by enjoying an afternoon of jazz music, food and silent auction bidding on Sunday, April 27. This marks our 5th annual Count Me In event. All proceeds benefit Childrenís Home Society of Minnesota Crisis Nursery of Chisago and Isanti Counties.
Please join us: Sunday, April 27. Concert 3-5 p.m., Silent Auction bidding begins at 2:30 p.m. at the North Branch High School.
Admission - $8, tickets are available by calling Chisago/Isanti County Crisis Nursery, or at one of the following local businesses: North Country Coffee Shop, North Branch; In Fashion Uniforms, Cambridge; Many Voices, Lindstrom; Music Connection, Forest Lake; North Branch Community Ed office.
The jazz concert will feature the Century College Jazz Band septet. The CD ěLEAHî will also be available for purchase with 100 percent proceeds going to the Crisis Nursery.
Tim Lackas is the producer of Leah and wrote the majority of the CDís music. Tim, along with his wife Roxanne and two daughters are a shelter home for CHSM Crisis Nursery.
ěI have a great deal of respect for the Crisis Nursery Program. I have seen how their services really help kids and their families. Donating the proceeds of the CD Leah was our way of helping this wonderful organization as well as sharing great music,î said Tim.
