Gladys E. Gunberg

Gladys E. Gunberg, 88, died peacefully at Mesa Manor Rehabilitation Care Center in Grand Junction, Colorado, on April 3, 2003. She was born on October 8, 1914, and was raised in Minneapolis, Minnesota, where she attended Roosevelt High School. Gladys married the Reverend Milton A. Gunberg on October 25, 1938, and went with him to serve several rural parishes in Harwood, North Dakota. After several years they returned to Minnesota, first serving a parish in Maple Plain, and then, from 1949 to 1974, serving at Trinity Lutheran Church in North Branch. Gladys helped serve Miltonís congregations with her talent in instrumental and vocal music. She also worked at the Merchantís State Bank and the Review Corporation in North Branch.
After spending their early retirement years in North Branch, Gladys and Milton moved to Brighton, Colorado, in 1982. Milton died in 1985, and several years later Gladys moved into the Inglenook Retirement Center in brighton, where she especially enjoyed the friends she met and the activities and outings provided for the residents.
Gladys is survived by her sons, Bruce of Loveland, CO, his wife Sally and grandson Andrew, and by David, of Grand Junction, CO, his wife Linda, and grandchildren Nora, of Ft. Collins, and Nathan, of Durango, CO.
A graveside service will be held in North Branch, Minnesota, on May 10th at 12:30 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church, P.O. Box 447, North Branch, Minn. 55056.
