NB girls track brings home 3rd place
The North Branch girls track team took third in the Cambridge Girls Invite last week, bringing along with the title two first place winners. Team scores were: Cambridge-Isanti, 176.5; Proctor, 123.5; North Branch, 102; Chisago Lakes, 85.5; and Princeton, 63 Jenny Anderson secured first in the 300m hurdles event with 50.1 seconds. Katie Hasleiet took first in 12:45.1 in the 3200m run. In the relay events, the team fared well. Kacie Ramberg, Rauna Dallman, Jenny Anderson and Jill VandenHeuvel took second place in the 4x200 relay in 1:55 In the 4x100m relay, Janice Klund, Rauna Dallman, Rachel Brown and Jill VandenHeuvel teamed up to secure third place in 55.7 seconds. The 400m dash brought a fourth place finish for Kacie Ramberg. Ramberg also earned a fifth place title for the 200m dash which she finished in 28.1 seconds. VandenHeuvel finished shortly behind Ramberg in 28.8 seconds, but ended up with 8th place. Sheena Devine showed her strength in shot put and took second place with 39 feet, 7.75 inches. Devine also grabbed a second place spot for 107 feet, 1 inch in discus Jacquelyn Wagner came in third in shot put with 32 feet, 8.75 inches. Kelli Carlson also was strong and brought in a fourth place title with 30 feet, 4.5 inches. Carlson was fifth in discus with 86 feet, 6 inches. Claire Williams finished sixth in discus with 82 feet, 3 inches. Jenny Anderson brought in a second place title for high jump at 4 feet, 8 inches. Rauna Dallman placed third in the even at 4 feet, 8 inches also. VandenHeuvel finished 7th in long jump with a 13 feet, 7 inch effort. In pole vault, Trissica Bye finished in a satisfactory 5th place with 7 feet while Janice Klund earned the team points for her 6-foot jump for 8th place.
