Forced to pay for growth in NB

To the editor:
Itís business as usual at North Branch City Hall. A multimillion dollar project was proposed for Hemingway Avenue, the citizens affected voiced almost unanimous opposition to the project at public hearings, and the council approved it anyway.
Why? Because it will benefit big development ń Casselberry Ponds to the north and Wood Duck Ponds to the south. Those of us living between the two ěPondsî on Hemingway Avenue will get soaked the assessments for road and utility improvements we donít want or need. Questions and protestations should have at least warranted a postponement on this project, but apparently the city of North Branch has too much money invested in planning and
engineering to delay it now. So we will be forced to pay. Itís the North Branch way.
