Raymond J. Wolter

We honor the life of Raymond J. Wolter, who lived from July 11, 1929, to April 17, 2003. He was a loving husband, devoted father, faithful servant of God, and a helping hand to his neighbors.
A 1947 graduate of St. Agnes High School, Raymond served in the military during the Korean Conflict as an Air Force Sgt.. He was a retired employee of the Minnesota Department of Transportation.
Raymond enjoyed photography, fishing, walking and puzzles. He gave freely of his time to the Knights of Columbus, Boy Scouts, and Little League; and as a lector, usher, and eucharistic minister at St. Michaelís Church.
Born in St. Paul, Minnesota, Raymond was preceded in death by parents, Mathias and Frances (Lauth) Wolter, infant daughter Carolyn, grandson Andy, sister Carol, and brother Ronald. A resident of Minnesota Veteranís Home in St. Paul, Raymond died there on April 17, 2003 at the age of 73 years. He is survived by his loving wife of 50 years, Kathleen (Dunn) Wolter of Rush City, MN; his children: Michael (Hyonye) Wolter, Springfield, VA, Stephen Wolter, Rush City, Judith (Joseph) Rush, St. Paul, and Julia Wolter, Chanhassen, MN; grandchildren: Theresa, John Mickey, and Max; brothers: Fr. Richard Wolter, St. Paul and Robert (Teresa) Wolter, Cottage Grove, MN; sisters: Virgina Petro, Mounds View, MN and Sister Mary Anne Wolter, St. Paul; sister-in-law, Mary Wolter; several nieces and nephews; his special family, Marvin and Robin Manthe and their children, Samantha and Sarah. He will be greatly missed by all who knew him.
Mass of Christian burial was at 11 a.m. Tuesday, April 22 at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Rush City with the Reverend Richard Wolter, the reverend Xavier Thelakkatt and Chaplain Neil Hering presiding. Organist was Ms. Nancy Sterk and soloist was Mr. Daniel Dunn. Military rites were by the United States Air Force Reserve and the Grothe-Jacobson VFW Post #6692. Casket bearers were Michael Wolter, Stephen Wolter, Robert Wolter, Daniel Dunn, Chris Petro, Joe Rush and Jim Koch. Interment was at St. Mary of the Lake Cemetery, White Bear Lake. Arrangements were by the Olson Chapel, Funeral and Cremation Service, Rush City, Minnesota.
