NB SADD students support troops
To the editor: On behalf of our U.S. Troops serving in Operation Iraqi, the North Branch High School SADD group wrote letters of encouragement and put together care packages for our local military men deployed to the Persian Gulf. Thirteen local men Sgt. Kovarik, Jace D. USMC, E-2 Beachler, Adam L. USMC, FC2 Stenger, Christopher M., AEAN Stauffer, Christopher A., LCpl Minke, Travis M. USMC, LCpl Johnson, Michael E. USMC, PFC Cooley, Nicholas A., LCpl. Fazendin, Brett M. USMC, Capt. McDaniel, Matthew Air Force, LCpl. Thompson, Timothy N. USMC, Mattson, Kent A. USAF, A03 Timothy J. Duchaine, Cpl. Narikawa, David M. USMC are among those known to be currently serving our country in active duty. High school Junior Kate Carlson, SADD president, became aware that many high school students have relatives, friends or know someone that is serving our country in our Armed Forces. Students want to make a contribution and take positive action that will show support, respect, and encouragement towards the brave soldiers serving our country. The SADD group donated packages which included various necessary items, books, pens, candy, Big Red gum, a military journal, and the Post Review donated newspapers. The North Branch American Legion Auxiliary mailed out the packages and covered the total expense of postage and shipping the packages overseas. The packages will let our servicemen know we are thinking about our troops and that we are proud of their great efforts of courage and dedication to our country. Kate Carlson NBHS SADD
