Thanks for supporting Girl Scouts
To the editor: On behalf of more than 18,150 Girl Scouts in our council, I am writing to thank the people who purchased Girl Scout cookies during our 2003 sale. Although they donít often realize it, our customers are doing so much more than buying Americanís favorite cookies. They are helping girls grow strong. Girl Scout cookies are part of a timeless program activity that helps girls develop skills for success in the real world - skills like goal setting, teamwork, budgeting and customer relations. Girls who participate in the Girl Scout cookie sale also learn about self-sufficiency by raising funds to support their own program plans. Today, Girl Scouts sell cookies door-to-door and also at ìbooth salesî sponsored by local organizations and merchants. Booth sales provide a great way for busy girls to participate in the cookie sale and to interact with customers in a safe, supervised setting. Thank you to every business who allowed Girl Scouts to set up tables at their locations this year. Their support made booth sales possible in our community. Again, thank you to everyone who supported Girl Scouts in our community by purchasing cookies this year. Anne Bray Cookie Program Manager
