Libraries more important than roads

To the editor:
A newspaper is an educational tool supposedly for enlightenment.
I find it hard to understand an editor of a newspaper would think roads are more important than libraries. What good are roads if there is no place to go at the end of them?
A new library in North Branch could become a focal point in the town, a gathering place for everyone. The last task force worked long and hard and it was well-documented that a new library is not only worthwhile but necessary.
We want to keep our downtown viable and a new library could well be the vehicle with which to do it.Ŭ If everything moves across the interstate, will we say goodbye to Main Street?
Circulation continues to increase at our library monthly. ŬAn extraordinary number of new cards are issued every month.
Programs and activities have increased and we now rent space for that at the Senior Center because there are no accommodations for such things at the library.
Címon. ŬGet on board and beat the drum for a new library. ŬSignatures on the petition drive show a desire to move ahead with this project - now.
