Missing NB woman found safe

By Barbara Brown
The family of a missing North Branch woman was worried about her safety this past weekend when she did not return home at her regular time after work.
Rachael Villagomez, 20, on North Branch, was missing for three days before she was stopped in Bloomington on a traffic violation.
Villagomez did not arrive at her house Friday after she left work at Caseyís General Store on Main Street in North Branch.
Villagomez told co-workers she was going to drop her paycheck in the bank and go home, but two hours after her noon quitting time, Villagomezís sister called the store looking for her, a co-worker said.
When Villagomez still did not appear on Saturday when she was supposed to meet her mother at another home in Isanti, the family contacted police.
Posters printed at Menne Printing with Villagomezís description, photograph and vehicle information were posted all over town, including First National Bank which is where Villagomez banked.
North Branch Police Chief Jules Zimmer said officers had not found any evidence of foul play and had entered Villagomezís information into a national computer database.
If any officer came into contact with Villagomez and ran her driverís license information on their computer system, the alert would have come up that she was a missing adult and her family was looking for her, Zimmer said.
Zimmer said Tuesday morning that the system worked after Villagomezís vehicle was stopped by Bloomington police.
ìShe was found by police late Monday,î Zimmer said. ìWeíre satisfied sheís safe.î
ìThereís nothing to lead us to believe there was anything wrong here except that this is a case of an adult who didnít come home,î he said.
