Nursing home is not closing
To the editor: Recently, I have been approached by family and community members with concerns that Hillcrest Health Care Center in Rush City is closing. There are no plans to close our nursing home. I would like to reassure residents, staff, families and the community that Hillcrest will continue to provide quality health care to the people we serve. Our parent company, Beverly Enterprises, Inc., has recently decided to close two of our sister facilities in Minnesota: Cosmos Health Care Center and Long Lake Health Care Center. Both homes, licensed for a total of 92 residents, need repair, have difficulty staying full and have financial difficulties due to inadequate reimbursement by Medicare and Medicaid. Staff at both facilities are working with families to relocate residents and human resources is working at transferring staff to other Beverly homes. If you have any questions about these closures or about the services we provide, please feel free to contact me. Angela Ganther Executive Director Hillcrest Health Care Center
