Asking folks to sign petitions

To the editor:
I attended the meeting at North Branch Perkins on July 24 with Lora Walker, Rick Olseen, and Mayor Karsky. Rick Olseen led the meeting and answered many questions about the library, Green Acres and a new jail. Even though the library space is a major concern to this community, Rick still seems to be playing a political game of cat and mouse. He talks the talk but will he walk the walk? What he will do in the end remains a mystery. He always leaves himself plenty of loopholes in case he decides to use them. Is he unsure who he needs to please? North Branch has a crowded library and is having a difficult time serving all the patrons in such a small space. We need more computers with Internet access. We need meeting and study space and nothing seems to change. This problem will not go away. The Rush City Prison provides each inmate with 10 times the library space per person that Chisago County has for its residents right now. Need I say more?
Please let your commissioners know that you like to have this problem solved before it gets even worse. Please sign petitions in 21 businesses in North Branch and at the library.
