Carol V. BarkeimCarol V. Barkeim (Craig) age 63 of North Branch passed away on Dec. 10, 2003. Carol was born on March 29, 1940, to Ben and Inez Lucile (Ferguson) Craig at Granite Falls, Minn. Carol graduated from Clarkfield High School in 1958. On Sept. 14, 1958 she married Duane Barkeim also from Clarkfield, Minn. (high school sweethearts). She always enjoyed time with family and friends, vacationing and traveling, motorcycling, outdoors, crafts and reading. She is survived by husband Duane; daughter Michelle Montpetit and husband Jay; son Patrick and special friend Sandy Horak; six grandchildren Scott and Brad Barkeim, Troy Montpetit, Missena Tschida and husband Marty, Jacque Blais, Heather Peterson and husband Ross; one brother, Leslie Craig and wife Sharon; three brother-in-laws; four sisters-in-law; many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends and will be missed by all. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ben and Inez Lucile Craig, brother Larry Craig, sister Tharon Lindroth, sister-in-law Carolyn Barkeim, and nephew Michael Craig. Funeral service Tuesday, Dec. 16, at 2 p.m. Grandstrand Funeral Home in North Branch, with the Rev. Tom Nyman officiating. Music was provided by Katie McMahon. Visitation was from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. Monday Dec. 15, 2003, Grandstrand Funeral Home. Private family interment Fort Snelling National Cemetery in Minneapolis.
