Leona M. Rumpel

Leona Marie Rumpel died Dec. 18, 2003 at the age of 83 at Green Acres Care Center, North Branchn.

Leona was born Nov. 29, 1920 to Richard and Hilma Linder of North Branch.

On Sept. 19, 1937 Leona married Curtis A. Anderson. Eight children were born to them, five boys and three girls. Their first son Gary Bruce died only a few days old. Seven children and their families are left to cherish her memory.

Curtis died from cancer on Dec. 20, 1973.

On July 21, 1978 Leona married Walter L. Rumpel. Walter, his children and their families brought much joy to her life. Flower gardening, painting, sewing, and dancing were among the many things she liked to do.
Besides caring for her family and aging relatives she worked for 21 years at Green Acres Care Center, where she became a resident herself in March of 2003.

She was hospitalized several time this year with severe health issues. She appreciated the many visits from her sisters and brothers and their mates. She will be greatly missed by her family and many relatives and friends.

Leona was preceded in death by parents Richard and Hilma Linder, husband Curtis A. Anderson and husband Walter L. Rumpel. She was survived by daughter Kay (Garry) Johnson, son Lane (Bonnie) Anderson, daughter Betty (Roger) Robbins, son Larry Anderson and Carol Splittstoser, daughter Vana (Raymond) Scheele, son Leo (Debbie) Anderson, son Cody Anderson and Steven Johnson, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, relatives and friends.

Memorial service was held Dec. 30 at Fish Lake Lutheran Church with Pastor Dale Stiles officiating. Private Interment following.
