C-Mites pull out wins, bring team its first tie of season
The group has had much activity in the C-Mite camp lately. The teamís Krispy Kreme fund-raiser was on Saturday, Nov. 22. Thanks to the hard work of the many parent and player volunteers we were able to raise almost $450 dollars for the team. Sunday, Nov. 23 also was an exciting day. The C-Mites had their first game against Cambridge. The athletes worked well together and were able to pull off a 5-1 victory. Scoring goals for North Branch were: Alex Miller (2), Brandon Timm (1), Logan Klatt (1) and Colten Danks(1). Parents and supporters were proud of the team and the athletes could see that hard work and teamwork ethic really pays off. The C-Mites played against Mora Nov. 26, which proved to be another exciting game. The game brought a couple of ìfirstsî for the team, including a penalty kill. With teamwork, defense and goaltending by Randy Hoff the team celebrated its first shut-out victory with a final score of 2-0. The first North Branch goal was scored by Joe Courtright and the second by Mason Niederkorn. A defensive battle in the first period produced no score, but it showed the goaltending skills of both teams with saves by both Chisago and North Branchís Nick Johnson. North Branch was up 2-0 late in the second period, thanks to goals by Randy Hoff and Ben Henderson. Alex Miller had a breakaway and Eric Chilstromís persistence brought in the last two goals. The teamís next scheduled game is at Princeton Saturday, Dec. 6 at 12:50 p.m. ©ECM Post Review |
