Vikings gymnasts barely lose meet by .2

It would be an understatement to say the Jan. 30 North Branch-Grantsburg gymnastics meet was a close one.

The Vikings hosted Granstburg and lost the meet by just .2 of a point, proving once again that in gymnastics even the smallest error can cost a win.

Grantsburg took 119.1 in the varsity competition while North Branch had 118.9 ñ making for an evently matched show throughout the competition.
Although the Vikings lost the meet, the team saw some its highest scores this season on floor exercise and vault.

Viking Allyssa Houle was first in all-around, scoring 31.75. In third place all-around was Kelsey Lloyd with 31.1 points and senior Nick Chouinard took fifth in all-around with 29.35 points.

The North Branch team beat Grantsburg in floor exercise by one point for a total 31.1.

Krystal Blesener had 5.8, Aileen Shanley had 7.2, Chouinard scored 7.9, Lloyd earned 7.7 and Houle took 8.3.

The team also beat Grantsburg in vault with 32.95 to 32.2.

Blesener scored 7.65, Shanley scored 8.0, Chouinard had 8.2, Lloyd scored 8.35 and House was 8.4.

In beam, Blesener scored 5.4, Chouinard had 6.35, Shanley scored 6.45, Houle had 7.6 and Lloyd scored 7.15.

On uneven bars, Natalia LaHood scored 3.85, Shanley scored 5.05, Couinard took 6.9, Lloyd scored 7.45 and Houle scored 7.9.
