Helen J. Hanson

Helen Jane Hanson, of Pine City, died Jan. 28, 2003 at the Cambridge Medical Center in Cambridge, Minn. at the age of 67 years.
Helen, the daughter of Archie and Clara (Johnson) Ruffcorn, was born at Wyoming, Minn. on August 16, 1935. She grew up and attended school there.
In 1956, Helen was united in marriage to Gerald (Bud) Bodle. Following his death in July of 1962, Helen moved to Parkers Prairie, Minn. In 1965 she married Duane Hanson and they made their first home in Martin Lake, Minn.
A year after their marriage, Helen and Duane moved to Stacy, Minn. They lived there until 1978 when they moved to Hinckley, Minn. and lived on a hobby farm. Later they lived at Rush City, Minn., and most recently Helen was a resident of Pine City, Minn.
Helenís hobbies included knitting, fishing, canning fruit and vegetables, and making pickles. She was also a member of the American Legion Auxiliary. Highly valuing her family and friends, she thoroughly enjoyed any time spent with them.
She is survived by her daughters and sons-in-law: Carole and Dale Mueller, Milaca, JoAnne and Thomas Gimpl, Hinckley, Susan Jackson, Pine City, and Barbara Mullins, Rush City; son and daughter-in-law: Brent and Teresa Bodle, Pine City; 12 grandchildren; one great-grandchild; sisters: Judy Boelter, New Brighton, Frances Hanson, North Branch and Mary Andersen of Nevada; brothers: Alan Ruffcorn, White Bear Lake, and Tony Ruffcorn, Brainerd; several nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends. She was preceded in death by her husbands, Gerald Bodle and Duane Hanson; daughter, Cindy Bodle; parents, Archie and Clara Ruffcorn; grandson, Andrew Gimpl; and her brothers, Jim and Bob Ruffcorn.
Funeral service was held
Friday, Jan. 31, 2003 at the Swanson Funeral Chapel in Pine City with the Rev. Deb Trulson officiating. Music was provided by Debbie Hanson. Honorary casket bearers were Andre Bodle, Shane Bodle, Gerald Bodle, Josh Gimpl, Mitchell Rowland and Matthew Gimpl. Interment will be at a later date at Pleasant Valley Cemetery in Clotho, Minn.
