NB hockey program improves

Although the squad fell 7-1 against Becker/Big Lake, the Vikings boys hockey team continues to make big improvements.
North Branch saw Becker rack up four goals in the first period Jan. 11 and add another in the second for a commanding 5-0 lead.
The Vikes continued to pick away at the Becker defense, however, and it paid off with a goal in the third period.
Joey Meyer scored the goal off an assist from Jake Lane. Becker added two more in the period for the 7-1 win.
Despite the loss, head coach Greg Lien has noticed the team improving with each game.
ėJake Lane had a strong game both defensively and offensively, and Tony Watters played a strong defensive game on the defensive line,î he said.
ėJoey Meyer has improved greatly since the beginning of the season as well.î
This week, the team was scheduled to take on Pine City Tuesday and St. Michael-Albertville Thursday.
