RC wrestlers finish fourth at HF

By Barbara Brown
The Rush City wrestling squad seems to be stuck in a rut when it comes to the Hinckley Tournament.
But, itís a rut that head coach Kevin Jensen thinks the team can escape.
ìThe final standings tell you how critical one match can be,î he said. ìIf we win one more match in the final round, we place second instead of fourth.î
The team finished fourth at the 8-team tournament for the second year in a row.
The Tigers barely missed the third place slot, losing it to Minnehaha Academy by only two points.
Finishing the day with the only RC first place was Mike Wuorinen at 160.
At 103, Joey Robinson pulled off a strong fifth place finish.
Richard Marohn continues to improve with each match and showed his skill up to the championship match for 112. He took second place. Jason Benson, wrestling at 119, finished in fifth.
Tim Allerton, 124, left the tournament in fourth place overall. Matt Wuorinen placed sixth in the 130 weight class and Adam Morris made it to the final round, leaving with a second place in the 135 class.
At 140, Adam Best showed great skill and finished fourth.
Tim Morris, 145, finished second in his weight class and MacKenzie Johnston continues to show his improvement. Johnston finished fifth in the tough 152 class.
Ray Grabau placed fourth at 171 and Robert Lind finished fifth at 189.
