Alida Belle Damm
Alida Belle Damm, age 90, died on Jan. 4, 2003 at the Fairview Lakes Hospital in Wyoming, Minn. Funeral services were held on Thursday, Jan. 9, at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Almelund with Rev. Brian Bergin officiating. Interment was in the Almelund Cemetery. Arrangements by Grandstrand Funeral Home in North Branch, Minn. Alida was born on April 6, 1912 in Day County, South Dakota to Anton and Jennie (Olson) Engebritson. On June 5, 1930 she married Alfred Damm, who died in 1977. She then married Harvey Loger on July 11, 1987. Alida worked as a homemaker, at the Almelund Coop, Falls Cafe in Taylors Falls, the Larsonís Fairway, the Village Bakery, the Municipal Liquor Store, owned the A & W in North Branch, and baked at the North Branch Senior Center. Alidaís hobbies were garden club, bowling league, dancing, playing cards, cooking, baking, reading, traveling and doing volunteer work. Alida was preceded in death by parents, husbands Alfred Damm in 1977 and Harvey Loger in 1990, seven brothers, two sisters, daughter Audrey Harris and grandson Kirk Lawrence. Alida is survived by two sons Duane and wife Barbara, and Rodney and wife Myra; four daughters Yvonne Carlson and husband Ralph, Nina Campeau, Diana Lawrence and husband Bob, and Delores Cleveland and husband Lester, 23 grandchildren, 35 great-grandchildren, and four great-great-grandchildren; many other relatives and friends.
