Kathleen H. Vaughn

Kathleen Helen Vaughn of Rush City died Wednesday, Dec. 25 at the Green Acres Country Care Center in North Branch at the age of 60.
Rev. Laurie OíShea officiated at funeral services Saturday, Dec. 28, at the First Lutheran Church of Rush City. The interment took place Saturday in the First Lutheran Cemetery in Rush City with casket bearers Bob Haugen, John Larson, Jerry Marohn, John Michog, Gary Behrendt and Richard Wilcox.
Funeral arrangements for Kathy Vaughn were with the Olson Chapel Funeral & Cremation Service of Rush City.
Kathy was the second oldest child of Herbert and Helen Asplund born Sept. 22, 1942 in Rush City. She grew up and attended schools in Rush City, graduating from Rush City High School in 1960. Shortly after graduation, Kathy married Robert Hockaday and the couple settled in Harris to raise their family.
Kathy worked as a dietician at the Cambridge State Hospital in Cambridge, Lakeside Nursing Home in Pine City and Hillcrest Health Care Center in Rush City.
In 1989, Kathy was married to Donald Vaughn at the First Lutheran Church in Rush City. Together, they enjoyed many fishing trips to Canada and most recently the new campsite at Kerrick, Minn. Kathy had many hobbies and interests which included wildlife photography, doll making, flower gardening, candle making and doll house construction.
Kathy is survived by her husband Don Vaughn, her children Lori Nelson of North Branch, Robert Hockaday of Winter Haven, Florida, Shelly Reichkitzer and her husband David of Harris, Sean Vaughn and his wife Rebecca of Rush City, Shannon Rambo and her husband Bill of Minnetonka, grandchildren Christopher (Brandi) Hockaday of Isanti, Rebecca Nelson and Catherine Nelson of North Branch, Megan Kaelbli and Chelsea Kaelbli of Harris, David Reichkitzer Jr. of Harris; Robyn Rambo of Minnetonka, Kathyís mother Helen Asplund of Rush City, mother-in-law and father-in-law; Kenny and Evelyn Vaughn of Rush City, sisters Theresa Pearson of Ogilvie, Irene Haugen and her husband Bob of Pine City, Beverly Larson and her husband John of North Branch. Kathy is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
