Minnie Charlotte Nelson

Minnie Charlotte Nelson of Cambridge went to her heavenly home on Friday, Jan. 3, 2002 at Grandview Christian Home at the age of 96 years, 3 months and 29 days.
Funeral services were held on Tuesday, Jan. 7 at the Salem Lutheran Church in Oxford with Rev. Merlin Seel officiating. Casketbearers were Warren, Everett, and John Nelson, Dennis and Gordon Peterson and Steven Hegg. Interment was in the church cemetery. Arrangements by Grandstrand Funeral Home in North Branch, Minn.
Minnie was born Sept. 5, 1906 in Athens Township, Isanti County, daughter of Charles and Hilma (Anderson) Nelson. She attended Country School through the 8th grade. She was baptized and confirmed at the Salem Lutheran Church of Oxford, where she was a lifetime member.
She enrolled at the Peterson School of Music in Minneapolis in 1926, studying piano and graduating the following year. Minnie taught piano and was organist for 30 years at her home church of Salem.
Upon her brother Harryís death she and brother Leonard sold the farm and moved into Forest Lake, where they lived for eight years. After Leonardís death, together with failing health she moved to Grandview Christian Nursing Home in 1983 where she has resided to the present time.
Minnie enjoyed her music, crocheting and reading. With failing eyesight she received mush enjoyment from talking books, attending church and doing what activities she could. Visiting with her relatives and friends filled her later years.
Minnie is survived by three cousins and their families, the Warren Nelson family of North Branch, Everett Nelson of North Branch and Inez Hegg, also of North Branch; along with other relatives and a host of friends including a special friend Ruthie Falk.
She was preceded in death by parents and two brothers: Harry and Leonard.
