Rush City wrestlers cream Pine City

The Rush City wrestling team rolled over Pine City with no regrets during a tri-meet held at Princeton High School on Dec. 20.
The Tigers took over with a 63-15 romp of the Dragons.
The tri-meet ended with the Tigers taking one win and one loss. The match against Princeton was lost 38-22.
In the Pine City match-up, coach Kevin Jensen pointed out the quality wrestling moves by junior Scott Englund (160).
ěHe wrestled extremely well, especially on his feet,î Jensen said. ěHe earned six takedowns in his match and won 17-7.î
The whole team was lauded for its efforts for the day. Although Pine City gave up a lot of forfeits, the Tiger wrestlers really dominated the matches they did get to wrestle.
Tim Morris (152), Richard Marohn (112), MacKenzie Johnston (145), Ray Grabau (189) all earned pins for the Tigers.
In the Princeton match-up, Jensen said his impression was that the quality for the entire teamís wrestling was the best he had seen all season.
Princeton edged out the Tigers because they pinned more often in the match, but Rush City won six matches.
Sophomore Tim Allerton (125) pulled out an astounding win 6-4 over his opponent in overtime.
Grabau, also a sophomore, won his close match with a decision 6-3.
Marohn, a freshman, pulled out a big pin in the 112 match.
