Itís almost County Fair time

Kidís Day
Be sure to take part in Kidsí Day on
Saturday, July 19, starting at 10:30 a.m. Itís free and great fun organized by the Chisago County 4-H youth leaders and fairboard members.
Children 10 and under will play games, search for money in a saw dust pile, compete in the Veggie 500 and be eligible to take part in a drawing for a free bike.

Enter open class
Adults and youths are invited to bring things they have made to enter in open class at the Chisago County Fair.
There are entry classes for photography, baking, sewing, crafts, woodwork, flowers and more. Call the Extension Office for a copy of the premium list and details on how to register. Call (651) 674-4417.

Farm family awards and more
Come celebrate the accomplishments and winnings of many people at the Chisago County Fair. During the amateur talent contest on Thursday, July 17 at 7 p.m. there will be a number of awards presented. Included will be the Farm Family of the Year, Century Farm awards, Fair Person of the Year and Outstanding Senior Citizen recognition.
The best part is the fair is free to attend with a small payment for parking as a fund raiser for a local group.

Fair highlights
There are lots of ways for local people to try get involved at the Chisago County Fair.
Grandstand events include a motocross race on Thursday night, demolition derbies on Friday and Saturday night, truck and semi tractor pulls Sunday afternoon and tractor pull Sunday night. All are open for anyone to enter just by calling and registering.
Of course if you do not want to enter but wish to come and cheer or watch, feel free to do that as well. Call the Chisago County Extension Office for a fair schedule or information on who to contact to register. (651) 674-4417

Fair Parade - Sunday, July 20
Everyone loves a parade and the Chisago County Fair Parade will be 2 p.m., Sunday, July 20. There will be bands and floats plus clowns and more. Come see the fair before or after the parade.
The 4-H cafeteria will be serving a roast pork dinner Sunday starting at 11:30 a.m. All funds raised in the 4-H cafeteria are used for scholarships and direct youth programming such as project training.

Visit and learn about animals
The Chisago County Fair is a great place to learn more about farm animals and horses. Come watch the rabbit, poultry, beef, swine, dairy, goat, sheep and horse shows. You can visit the animals in the barns as well watch 4-H members and other exhibitors care for them.
