Response to Delaney letter

To the editor:
Mr. Delaney attempted to denigrate Commissioners Montzka and Walker in a letter to the Press printed for July 10, 2003.
He complained about their suggested possible moratorium on building in the 4-mile overlay zone running roughly west of the St. Croix River (possibly to be revised).
Note that he neglected to mention this St. Croix Overlay in his letter. This is because he was one of the commissioners on the last county board who suggested this zone. He also organized the OES Overlay Task Force to redefine land use in the St. Croix and Sunrise rivers overlay zones back in 1999 or 2000.
If one is going to have such zones, it is implied that building must be limited (controlled growth) by moratorium or otherwise.
You canít have it both ways, Mr. Delaney. I suggest you continue to stay out of county politics.
