Rain does not deter blood donors

To the editor:
The Rush City area residents certainly are not controlled by the weather.ÝDuring the heavy rain on Monday, July 14, we had 91 willing donors come to give a pint of blood when the Red Cross Bloodmobile was in Rush City on July 14 and 15.Ý There were 74 more who came on Tuesday, giving us a total of 165.ÝHelping this successful blood drive possible were the following:ÝSacred Heart Catholic church where the drive was held, Living Waters Church and the Rush City Baptist Church who served the meals each day, the Rush City Lions Club who helped unload and load the truck, the 30 callers who contacted the community residents and all of the volunteers who worked the two days.Ý A big thank you to all of you. ÝÝÝÝÝÝÝ The following donated blood in Rush City for the first time:Ý Bradley Stottler, Kassy Hoppe, Jackie Parenteau, Shari Schommer, Robin Schellbach, Mark Sjostrom, Mary Jo Youngbauer, Annette Hopkins, Sally Silva, Erica Schmeichel, Bobbi Jo DelVillar and Brenda Lobby, Jeff Vold.
Pins were given to the following donors:Ý1 gallon to Florence Swanson, Glen Mell, and Anthony Schoeberl; 2 gallon pins to Susan Engstran and Jerry Lundberg; 4 gallon to Rishard Mihm and Clare Lillis; 5 gallon to Robert Booth and Nancy Ovick.
