Avoid fear and special agendas
To the editor: The fact that one family has spent its life farming a field and that another cherishes the view of that field should not make these people enemies. The people who cry out for caution and controlled growth and the farmers who desperately need to sell some land are in the unique position of being the people who could come up with a solution. Solutions benefit both. I believe the politicians, developers and builders who foster suspicion, hatred and anger and push these groups apart are irresponsible and self-serving that their pocketbooks benefit from the division is not coincidental. Other counties all across America are facing these same issues, some bravely forge new laws and ideas that serve the whole community. We can follow their lead and come up with solutions of our own. People like Lora Walker who bravely fight for new ideas and show leadership help move us forward. Letís not let fear and other peoples agendas rip our county to shreds and leave us with nothing of beauty to leave our grandchildren. Judy Kepes North Branch
