Many thanks from the chamber
To the editor: The North Branch Chamber of Commerce would like to say thank you to the nearly 300 people who joined us for the Family BBQ on Thursday evening during Midsummer Days.ÝA taste of North Branch barbeque dinner was served from 5 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. under the big tent by the American Legion.Ý For the incredible menu we would like to thank these businesses for preparing the food: Lionís Club of North Branch, Koepís Village Bakery, Bubba Q Smokers, Signature Dining, The Oak Inn, Nelsonís Market, North Branch Dairy Queen and our financial sponsors: Xcel Energy, Abundant Life Church, the New Central Motors, A & C Automotive and Curves for Women.ÝWe had entertainment by True North starting at 6 p.m. courtesy of Fairview Lakes, North Branch Clinic.ÝYouth Service Bureau members played games with the children who attended.ÝThank you to these door prize providers: AFLAC, First National Bank, Koret of California, S & C Bank, Signature Dining, The New Central Motors and Wayneís Nursery and Greenhouse.ÝWith events of this size many people are needed to help with set-up, serving and clean-up.Ý The following did a fantastic job: Paula Beland from Koret of California, Bill Young from Anderson & Koch Ford for Lionís Club of North Branch, Bob Denham from Bubba Q Smokers for Lionís Club of North Branch, Steve Vanden Heuvel from Fernwood Developers and Havoline Fast Lube, Linda Emery from First National Bank, Danielle Christensen from The Flower Shop, Amy Ralidak from AFLAC, George Beck from the Star, Bridgitte Konrad from the City of North Branch, Tim Menne from Menne Printing & Graphics, Mary Eslinger from Avon and ECM Post Review, staff members from Landmark Personnel, Signature Dining and Nelsonís Market and Jim, Carrie and Doug Jorgenson from North Branch Dairy Queen.ÝMany thanks to all who attended and participated. The North Branch Area Chamber of Commerce also held a silent auction during our Midsummer Days activities. We started the bidding at our Block Party that highlighted our member businesses in the 8th Avenue and Main Street area.ÝThe bidding concluded the next evening at our Family BBQ held under the big tent by the American Legion.ÝThe proceeds from this auction will be used for the scholarship fund and tourism programs and projects.
