People need to come first
To the editor:
I am so glad that the North Branch City Council did the ìrightî thing at the council meeting on June 23. What is ìlegally rightî is not always what is morally right. People need to come first. Nancy Gipson had a temporary certificate of occupancy for the last 30Ý years or so. The water and sewer pipes were connected and ran through another persons property. It should have been re-hooked up after the winter long ago but for some reason wasnít. ÝÝÝ The other property now wanted to develop the land and needed the pipe to hook up. The city attorney said that it was not the cityís responsibility to pay for the re-construction or moving of water and sewer pipes. City council member Rod Lofquist stated several times that we as a city need to do the ìright thing,î and that is to fix the problem. Way to go Rod!Ý Ý
