Thanks for supporting Poppy Day

To the editor:
Thank you for supporting the American Legion Auxiliaryís Poppy Day. We appreciated the publicity. Thank you also to all the community residents and to our American Legion family members who so graciously agreed to ìwear a poppyî and give a donation.
Thanks to those who saw fit to donate for a poppy card in the Legion club room ìin honorî or ìin memoryî of some loved one.
That poppy says we remember our veterans and those who serve.
All poppy donations are used for veterans programs.
We support programs in the VA medical centers, the Veteranís homes and provide gifts for the veterans in our local nursing home.
Because of your support we are able to do that.
Flag Day, June 14, is coming right up. Remember to fly your flag that day. How about wearing patriotic colors ñ red, white and blue. With a little work, we could become the ìflag town.î
