Newcomer apprecites the welcome
To the editor:
My family and I moved to Rush City about six months ago. I have moved many times in my life and have never received such a welcome as this.
I have plans to attend Northwestern College in the fall. My goal is to obtain my bachelor of science degree in ministries.
Several organizations and individual persons joined together to make this dream a reality. As it is nearly impossible to attend school without a computer, that was the major obstacle in my path. I am visually impaired; therefore I need a speech synthesized computer.
This ups the cost of my computer about $2,000. It is equipped with a screen reader for primarily all applications, including the scanner.
I now have complete access to my own mail thanks to the scanner. I would like to extend my gratitude to those who gave me an opportunity to present my situation to them. I would also like to thank those who made generous contributions to this cause.
