Darryl Johnson

Darryl Dean Johnson of rural Rush City, Minnesota passed away on Tuesday, June 10, 2003 at the age of 52 years. He died unexpectedly at the Brookside Golf Course in Rush City doing one of the things he loved to do, playing golf.
Born December 21, 1952 at Rush City, Darryl was the son of Lawrence and Emma (Nornberg) Johnson.
He attended Rush City Schools and was a graduate of Rush City High School. Many people knew him as ìBugsy.î
On Aug. 12, 1968, Darryl was united in marriage to Bonnie Carlbom.
He was a kind and peaceful man who was always ready and willing to help anyone in need. Most of his working years he was employed as a truck driver.
Darrylís greatest joy was in the time he spent with his family. He enjoyed campouts, snowmobiling, skiing, going out to eat, and most recently, golf.
He is survived by his wife, Bonnie; son and daughter-in-law: Troy and Darlene Johnson, McGregor, Minn.; daughters and son-in-law: Tina Johnson, Rush City, and Tiffany and J.C. Scullard, McGregor; grandchildren: Tim Horbacz, Adam (Kari) Horbacz, Andy Johnson, Brandon Johnson, and Abigail Johnson; mother-in-law: Marlys Carlbom, Harris, Minn.; sisters: Carol (Marvin) Beecher, Hinckley, Minn., and Ardis (Audie) Skogman, New Hope, Minn.; brothers: Loren (Roxy) Johnson, Winsted, Minn., and Harvey (Bobbie) Johnson, North Branch, Minn.; Also surviving Darryl are his sisters-in-law, brothers-in-law and many nieces and nephews. Darryl was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Emma Johnson, and his daughter, Tonya Johnson.
A memorial service was held Saturday, June 14, at the Olson Funeral Chapel in Rush City with Mr. Steven Peterson officiating. An Interment is planned at the First Lutheran Cemetery in Rush City. Arrangements are by the Funeral & Cremation Service of Rush City, Olson Chapel.
