Roger Pepin
Roger Pepin passed away quietly at United Hospital on June 10, 2003 at the age of 77. Roger was born in Canada and came to the United States in 1948 to marry Eileen May Simpson. He had a lengthy career in the packaging industry, many of those years at Kaplan Paper Box, B. F. Nelson and Distinctive Packaging. He was an avid fisherman and passed that love on to his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He also enjoyed spending time hunting, gardening and reading. Roger is survived by his wife of 54 years Eileen (Simpson) Pepin; children Gabrielle Stepp, husband Shane of Sunrise, Maureen Sybrant, husband Kevin of Rush City, Ronald Pepin of Sunrise, Gisele Schmeling, husband David of North Branch, and Siobhan Hudson, husband Thomas of Lilburn, Georgia; sixteen grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; three sisters; five brothers, all of Canada, and many nieces, nephews and cousins. Roger was preceded in death by his parents Louis and Rita Pepin and two brothers and one sister. A visitation was held on Thursday, June 12 from 6:30-8:30 p.m. at the Olson Funeral Chapel in Rush City. Funeral services were held on Friday, June 13, 1:30 p.m. at the Sunrise Bible Church in Sunrise with Pastor George Cable officiating. Music was provided by granddaughters Whitney Schmeling, Bernadette Campbell and her husband William Campbell and Susie Knickerbocker. Bagpiper, Wayne Sandford, provided musical selections at the church and the cemetery. Honorary Casketbearers were Scott Stepp, Michael Pepin, Kellin Sybrant, Jason Stepp, Matthew Pepin, Korey Sybrant, Bradley Stepp, Troy Schmeling, and Joshua Hudson with interment at the Sunrise Cemetery, Sunrise, Minnesota. Arrangements by the Funeral and Cremation Service of Rush City, Olson Chapel.
