Kiddie Parade winners announced

The 2003 Midsummer Kiddie Parade sponsored by the North Branch VFW Auxiliary 6424 had a great turnout of creatively costumed children.
The parade, June 19, was escorted down Main Street by the North Branch police and led by the boy and girl scout troops carrying the colors.
Kiddie Parade royalty was King Derek Olson and Queen Kiylie Deneson. They rode in a convertible courtesy of Anderson & Koch Ford.
Judges for the kiddie parade were 2002 Midsummer Queen Ashley Mudrick and princesses Megan Johnson and Tiffany LeGuyer.
Winners Costumes singles were: 1st place Chet Norman as Uncle Sam; 2nd place McKayla Lentsch as the Statue of Liberty; 3rd place Greta Lindberg as Dorothy of the Wizard of Oz.
Costumes groups: 1st place Hanna and Maddie Mayne, Red, White and Blue Cheerleaders; 2nd place Sam, Kevin and Zack Fluegel, Stars and Stripes; 3rd place Desiree and Brady Illies, Patriotic Kids.
Trikes, wagons, strollers
Singles: 1st place Emma Wilcox as Goldilocks and the three bears; 2nd place Kate and Nick Blanding, A.J. and Braedon Kemplen, ìFishing for Freedom; 3rd place Audrey and Brady Moeller, Patriotic Wagon.
Groups: 1st place Scott and Alyssa Ramberg, Red, White and Blue Wagon; 2nd place (given as single above); 3rd place Jamie and Ruth Ann Ekerton Settlers-1776.
Special category
Singles: 1st place Luke Vadnais, bike rider; 2nd place Dominic Hiland, mini dirt bike.
Groups: 1st place Courtney Warren and Andrew Soulis in Red, White and Blue with dog Keesha; 2nd place Carl and Newell Fisk, Red, White and Blue Justice Team.
