Gerome (Jerry) Marier

Gerome (Jerry) Marier died at his home on May 24, 2003 in Nickerson, Minn., after a courageous battle with cancer. He was 61 years of age.
Rev. Laurie OíShea of First Lutheran Church of Rush City and Rev. Nate Anderson of Oak Lake Lutheran Church in Bruno officiated at funeral services Thursday May 29, 2003 at the First Lutheran Church in Rush City.
Honorary casket bearers included Jerry Hughes, Vern Howell, Jim Bowell, Don Gross, George Bendt, Paul Odegaard, Scott Ehert, Keith Blazek and Dan Curtis. Active Casket Bearers were Robert Behrendt, Arvid Rawlings, Scott Wolf, Allen Behrendt, Chris Odegaard and Neil Beise. Funeral arrangements were by the Funeral & Cremation Service of Rush City - Olson Chapel.
Jerry was born on March 31, 1942 at Forest Lake, Minnesota.
In his early years, Jerry worked with his father who owned and operated the Coffee Stugga in Harris, Minnesota. Jerry went on to teach himself to be a tool and die maker and in 1969 he started his first Plastic Injection Molding company in Shoreview, Minn. Jerry spent 22 years in St. Paul, Minn. with his wife Sharie and they had three beautiful children together.
In 1984, Jerry moved to Rush City, Minn. Jerry loved hunting, fishing, horseback riding, and four wheeling with his family and friends. In 1991, Jerry founded TSI Molding, Inc. in Fridley, Minn. with his son, Brian. In November of 1997 he was married to Bernice (Doodie) and they moved their home to Nickerson, Minn. in 1999.
He is survived by his wife, Bernice (Doodie) Marier; children Jody (Gary) Straka of Pine City, Brian (Billie Jo Reilly) Marier of Rock Creek, Susan (Erik) Helgerson of Blaine; five grandchildren, Joshua, Christina, Joseph Marier, Grace Helgerson; brother Lloyd Marier, Jr. of Minneapolis, mother-in-law; Doris Wolf of Rush City, brothers-in-law Paul Odegaard of Cromwell, Robert (Linda) Behrendt, Scott (Jenny) Wolf, all of Rush City, Scott Teich of Pine City. Jerry is also survived by nieces, nephews and many friends. Jerry was preceded in death by his parents Lloyd and LaVerna (Johnson) Marier and his sister, Paulette Odegaard.
Thank you to all of nurses and doctors at St. Maryís Oncology in Duluth for all of your help and guidance. And to the many friends and family who offered their love and support. Jerry loved you all!
