Wallace E. Mell

Wallace E. Mell ìWallyî age 92 died peacefully on June 1, 2003 with his family at his side at his home in Spring Lake.
Wallace was born to Otto and Tillie Mell on October 1, 1910, the youngest and last surviving of 12 children. He married Clara Trulson in 1934. They lived in Rush Point until 1943 then moved to Spring Lake where he continued to farm and work as a carpenter. Here they raised their 7 children.
Wally enjoyed hunting, trapping, fishing, and telling endless stories of his adventures. He loved visiting with family and friends and making them laugh. He loved children and is famous for his bear hugs.
Wallace is preceded in death by his wife Clara, daughter Bonnie and grandson Mark. He will be missed by his family, sons LeRoy and wife Barbara, Marlin, Gary and wife Barbara and Alan; Daughters Muriel Rohlf and husband Ted and Beverly Horan and husband Bill; son-in-law John Dehn; 23 grandchildren, 51 great grandchildren and 2 great great grandchildren; special friend Donnabelle Stanley; many other relatives and friends.
Funeral will be held on Saturday, June 7, 2003 at 11 a.m. at the Grandstrand Funeral Home in North Branch, Minn. Interment will be in the Oak Hill Cemetery in North Branch. Arrangements by Grandstrand Funeral Home in North Branch.
