Vikings girls basketball honored with four all-conference mentions

The North Branch girls basketball team recently honored team members with individual awards and recognized players who achieved all-conference and all-state accolades.
All-conference honors went to seniors Traci Reimann, Christina Sampson, Rauna Dallman and Sarah Rauen. Senior Alison Trampe earned all-conference honorable mention.
Reimann, Sampson and Dallman were named to the All-Tournament team for their performance at a tournament in Simley during the season.
All-State Academic honors went to Trampe, Rauen and Sampson.
For his efforts in coaching the team to a 26-4 record, taking the Rum River Conference and Section 6AAA titles and earning a trip to the state tournament, Head Coach Dan Schindler was named Coach of the Year once again for the conference.
This was the third year in a row for Schindler as coach of the year, and he has earned the honor six times in the last nine seasons.
Chisago Lakeís Kari Schmidt was named as Player of the Year.
Other team awards for the Vikings were: Best offensive player ñ Christina Sampson; Best defensive player ñ Rauna Dallman; Best rebounder ñ Traci Reimann and Sarah Rauen; Rookie award ñ Jenny Anderson; Viking award ñ Alison Trampe and Brooke Beaver.
All of those who received awards also earned letters.
Joining those who received letters were team managers Rachel Stefonick and Claire Williams.
North Branch also led the conference in several statistical categories for the season.
The Vikings were first in scoring with 869 points, for an average of 54.3 points per game.
The squad also allowed the least points to its opponents with 556 for a 34.8 points-per-game average.
In individual scoring, Reimann was fourth in the conference with 207 points, averaging 12.9 points-per-game.
Sampson was ninth with 176 points and Dallman was 14th with 119 points.
North Branch led the RRC in rebounds with 598 total rebounds, while Reimann was the teamís top rebounder with 129 total rebounds for fifth place in the conference.
Rauen was 11th in rebounds for the conference with 92 and Jenny Anderson was 13th with 90.
North Branch was second in free throw accuracy, hitting 169 out of 279 attempts for a 60.6 percent average.
Dallman was fourth in free throws, going 32 of 44 for 72.7 percent and Rachel Brown was fifth going 21 of 29 for 72.4 percent.
In total field goal percentage, the Vikings were second behind Chisago Lakes.
For 2-point attempts, the Vikes shot 43.5 percent, and for three-point attempts the team shot 31.1 percent for a field goal total of 41.4 percent.
Sampson was second in the conference for two-point percentage, hitting 40 of 74 attempts for 54.1 percent.
Reimann was seventh at 46.2 percent, Anderson was ninth at 45.6 percent and Dallman was 14th at 37.1 percent.
Sampson made the list again for three-point percentage, coming in third with 39.6 percent. Dallman was 13th with 25 percent.
Reimann made the teamís all-time leading scorers list, finishing her high school career with 741 points for ninth place on the list.
Sampson also made the top 20, coming in at 19, with 458 career points. Dallman finished in 25th with 302 points.
Reimann is among 14 Vikings on the list for 300 or more career rebounds.
She came in 4th place with 610 total rebounds, and also is tenth in most rebounds in a season with 233 for this year.
Sampson is fourth in most three-point shots made, with 51 in her career.
Captains chosen for the 2003-04 season are Katie Hasleiet and Rachel Brown.
