Vivian A. Johnson

Vivian A. Johnson of North Branch died Monday, May 5, 2003 at the age of 99 years.
She was born on april 28, 1904 in Moscow, Idaho to parents Rev. N.J.W. and Ida Nelson.
Vivian graduated from Cloquet High School in 1921 and then the MacPhail School of Music in Minneapolis in 1923. She married Melvin Johnson on July 8, 1938 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Almelund and had been the church organist for 60 plus years.
She also was a piano teacher, choir director, and enjoyed quilt making in the sewing circle at church.
Vivian is preceded in death by her husband, Melvin, brother Austin Nelson, sisters Ruby Sedlund, and Aileen Johnson, and grandson Christopher Johnson.
She is survived by son Dan (Sandra) Johnson of North Branch, daughter Linda (Merv) Johnson of Scandia, grandchildren Lynn (Paul) Anderson of Forest Lake, Erin (Jim) Fallon of Cambridge, Terry Johnson of Seattle, Wash., great-grandchildren Caleb and Kendra Anderson; sisters Phyllis Mansfield of Walnut Creek, Calif. and Irma Borgen of Colorado Springs, Colo.; brother Merle (Rosalie) Nelson of Burnsville.
Funeral service was held Friday, May 9, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Almelund. Interment at Almelund Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to Immanuel Lutheran Church.
