Local athletes advance to rodeo finals

Minnesota high school rodeo competitors will compete in the annual High School Rodeo Finals June 13-15 at the Dead Broke Arena in Hugo.
The four performances will be held rain or shine. Stock contractor is the Triple B Rodeo Company of Maynard.
The rodeos will feature eleven events for boys and girls. The queen contest will be held Thursday, June 12 at the American Legion in Forest Lake.
The top four competitors in each class will be eligible to compete at the National High School Rodeo Finals. These will be held July 21-17 in Farmington, New Mexico.
Performances on June 13 start at 7:00 p.m. There are two performances June 14 ñ 2:00 p.m. and 6:00 p.m. The performance June 15 is set for 2:00 p.m. followed by the presentation of annual awards.
The major sponsors of the Minnesota High School Rodeo Finals are Denny Hecker Dodge, Wrangler and Dead Broke Saddle Club. The Marine Corps Reserve will handle the Tots For Toys drop off on the rodeo grounds.
Advance sale buttons at $5.00 are available at the following locations: Denny Hecker Dodge, Forest Lake; Blacksmith Lounge, Hugo, Woodloch Tack Shop, Hugo; Trio Inn, Centerville, Nadeaus, Hugo and Bob's Barber Shop, North Branch.
The buttons are good for all performances. Regular admission is $6.00 at the gate. Parking is free and refreshments are available on the grounds.
