Boys golf swings into 4th place in RRC
With scores of 158 and 163, the North Branch boys golf team ended the regular season strong by capturing 12 much-needed points in the last two Rum River Conference meets. The points at the two RRC nine-hole rounds May 15 at Pine City Country Club propelled the Vikings into a fourth place finish. The squad ended the season with 20 total points. Chisago Lakes won the conference with 31 points, followed by Mora with 29 and Princeton with 22. In the first round of the day, Tom Koep led the Vikings with a 38, followed by Tyler Leland and Bryan Peters with rounds of 41. Tony Beaver ended with a 43. For the dayís second round, Leland led with a 36, Nick Lindberg had a 40 and Koep and Beaver turned in scores of 41. The team now prepares for section preliminaries, starting Thursday, May 22 at Hinckley Grand National. Section Finals are scheduled for Friday, May 23 and Monday, May 26.
