NB boys tennis captures six all-conference awards

The Vikings boys tennis team ended its season with six players earning all-conference honors at the Rum River Conference tournament last Thursday.
At singles, Britt Baumann earned all-conference by ending the day with a 3-1 record. Matt Fletcher earned all-conference with a 4-1 record on the day.
Two of the squadís doubles team earned all conference: Steve Goranson and Craig Beecher at No. 1 doubles and Lance Arbogast and Rolando Leal at No. 2 doubles. Both ended the day with 3-1 records.
Head Coach Mike Lizotte was pleased with how well the team ended the regular season. ìSix all conference players is the most weíve ever had,î he said. ìWe were able to keep a positive mental attitude throughout the entire tournament and that was a key to our success. We picked a great time to play some of our best tennis of the year.î
Also last week, the team defeated Cambridge 5-2 and shut out St. Francis 7-0.
Subsection team competition was held Monday and Tuesday, with individual subsections starting today, May 21.
