Cecilia C. Bartholomaus

Cecilia Catherine Bartholomaus passed away Thursday, May 15, 2003 at the Lakeside Medical Center in Pine City at the age of 79 years, two months and 9 days.
Mass of Christian Burial was held on Monday, May 19, 2003 for Cecilia C. Bartholomaus of Pine City, formerly of Braham at Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Church, with Deacon Don Tzinski and Father Nicholas Zimmer officiating. Music was provided by organist Joni Nelson and vocalists Marianne and Chris Santele. Pallbearers were JR Nyman, Clay Carlson, Tim Magnuson, Mike Torgenson, Cary Olson and Craid Bedbury. Interment was in the Sts. Peter and Paul Catholic Cemetery.
Cecilia was born on March 6, 1924 in Victoria, Minn. the daughter of Leonard and Anna Van Sloun. After finishing school she moved to Minneapolis where she worked and met Benjamin Bartholomaus.
On September 13, 1952 they married and after starting a family they moved to Sibley, Iowa. Six years later the family moved back to Minneapolis and 12 years later moved to Braham.
She enjoyed crafts, bingo, cards, spending time with family and friends and especially her grandchildren.
She is survived by four sons; David Bartholomaus of Rush City, Steve Bartholomaus of Harris, Jason of Brook Park, and Darin of Grasston, three daughters; Becky (Craig) Bedbury of St. Paul, Sherri (JR) Nyman of Pine City, and Elaine (Clay) Carlson of Brook Park, one sister; Dorothy Van Sloun of Minneapolis, six grandchildren Stephanie McIllhargey, Jamie (Tim) Magnuson, Aleshia Rysdam, Ryan Rysdam, Joseph Nyman and Josh Bartholomaus; three great-grandchildren: T.J., Jacob and Elizabeth Magnuson, other relatives and friends.
She is preceded in death by her husband Benjamin, two daughters; Dorothy Jean and Colleen, five brothers; Rufinus, Francis, Raymond, Roman, and
Edmund.
