Track finishes season at conference meet
The Rush City boys and girls track teams ended the regular season with the Great River Conference meet at Hinckley May 13. For the boys, the lone first place finish came from Jeff Jennings in the high jump, with a jump of 5í8î to earn all-conference honors. The 3200m relay team took second, with a time of 10:33.28 and the 400m relay team took third, with a time of :49.75. Josh Dahl recorded third place finishes in the 1600m run, with a time of 5:05.25 and the 3200m run, with a time of 11:25.9. Marc Blomquist also took third in the 800m run, with a time of 2:19.9. Kevin Bengtson was fourth in the high jump and Brett Dreissig took fourth in the 300m hurdles. The girls team captured first place finishes in six events for a third place finish overall in the meet. Christine Frandsen took first in the 1600m run and 3200m run. Heather Dean was first in the 400m dash and the 200m dash, and Alex Saxton was first in the 100m dash. The 4x4 relay team also took first, and the 3200m relay team, the 400m relay team and the 800m relay team all captured second. Amber Hoffman was third in the 800m run, with a time of 2:39.4. This week, the teams were scheduled to start subsection play today, May 21 at Ogilvie. The section 4A meet is May 31.
