Ardis C. Johnson

Ardis C. Johnson 88, passed away May 1, 2003 in her home at Birchwood H.C.C. in Forest Lake.
Ardis was born December 28, 1914 to Harry and Ada (Crook) Bemis of Oak Park, Minn. She was the sixth of nine children. She attended grade school in a country school near the family farm. She went to high school in Foley, Minn. for two years then transferred to Milaca High School where she graduated in 1932. Ardis moved to Minneapolis, lived and worked there for eleven years. Graduated from beauty school in the spring of 1934. In 1942 she married Robert Tidd of Milaca. From this union three children were born. She worked as a beauty operator/manager until 1968. Robert Tidd died in February 1963. On September 28, 1968 she married Clifford Johnson of Milaca. The couple lived in Milaca until 1977. When Cliffordís health began to fail they moved to Fridley to be closer to his work. In 1981 Ardis and Clifford moved to North Branch. Ardis enjoyed being a member of the United Methodist Church in North Branch. Clifford died April 8, 1988. She remained in North Branch until her health began to fail. May of 2000 she moved to Forest Lake.
Ardis is survived by sister Corrine of WA, brothers Leo of WA, Lynn of Shakopee, daughter Janis Christianson of Big Lake, sons James Tidd, wife Mary of North Branch, Douglas Tidd, wife Beverly of North Branch, stepchildren Barbara, husband John Wright of MO, Gary Johnson, wife Joanne of Bloomington, Clifford Johnson of Minneapolis. Grandchildren Alan, Thomas, Troy, Robert, John, Angela, William, Jeremy, Michael, Andrew and 17 great grandchildren. Many nieces, nephews and friends. Ardis was preceded in death by her parents, sisters Bernice, Grace, Evelyn, Vivian, Harriet, and son-in-law Dennis Christianson.
Funeral services were held on May 5 at the United Methodist Church in North Branch with Mr. Kurt Liebenow officiating. Interment was in the Forest Hill Cemetery in Milaca, Minn. Arrangements by Grandstrand Funeral Home in North Branch, Minn.
