Donated deer hides make a difference

For the 18th year Minnesota Deer Hunters Association will again be accepting donated deer hides at over 400 hide drop points around the state.ÝAs in the past, proceeds generated from donated deer, elk and moose hides will be earmarked for habitat projects throughout Minnesota.Ý

Since 1985 MDHAís Hides for Habitat program has collected over 390,000 hides, generating over $2 million that has funded habitat enhancement for Minnesotaís wildlife.

Hunters who donate their deer, elk or moose hides this year are asked to only deposit the hide and tail.ÝHunters are reminded to please remove deer heads and feet from their deer hides, otherwise MDHA Chapterís must pay to discarding the unwanted heads and feet.

Hide drop box locations can be found by visiting the MDHA Web site www.mndeerhunters.com, or calling MDHA at 1-800-450 DEER (3337).
