Close to 100 attend teen dance
To the editor: Our Teen Dance/Halloween Costume Party held on Saturday, Oct. 25 was a success despite some difficulties. We found out that the Lindstrom/ North Branch playoffs was scheduled for the same evening as our dance. We knew the numbers were going to be down. At 6:30, our DJ still wasnít there, so we had to scramble to find music just in case they did not show up. At 6:45; it was pretty apparent they were going to be a no-show. We had to bring in our home stereo systems. Some teens were kind enough to bring in some of their own music. We were ready to go at 7:15. Despite this, we still had close to 100 teens. The DJ never did call or come to our party. We had two representatives from Norm Colemanís office and Sean Nienow as judges for the Halloween Costume Contest. Prizes were one pair Vikings tickets to the best costume, a Wal-Mart gift certificate to the most original, and a Target gift certificate to the most wackiest. In addition to that, there were also four tickets to a Wild game donated for the best dancer. All in all, it was a great evening. I would like to extend a personal thank you to the Almelund Lions for all of the support that they provided to us to make this event a success. Kim Barney MADD
