Keep Halloween safe and fun

To the editor:
Halloween offers children the opportunity to enjoy a cool fall evening outdoors, racing from home to home collecting treats ñ all the more reason for grownups to be more careful when driving, especially in residential areas.
Thatís why itís important for drivers to buckle up, obey the speed limits and keep both eyes and ears on the road. But even further, if their night on the town involves drinking alcohol beverages, adults should designate a driver to keep everyone safe. We salute the bars and restaurants with designated-driver programs, and urge all adults to keep Halloween safe as well as fun.
